About Codingcanvasq
A Garissa-based advisory firm built on quantified risk discipline
Codingcanvasq was founded to bring institutional-grade capital protection methodology to private clients and businesses in Kenya who had been underserved by generalist financial advisers.

What Codingcanvasq does, in plain language
We help clients protect capital from quantifiable risks — not from theoretical ones described in generic brochures.
Codingcanvasq is a specialist capital protection advisory firm operating from Garissa, Kenya. We work with private clients, business owners, and institutional investors who have accumulated meaningful capital and recognise that protecting it requires a different discipline from growing it. Our core work falls into four areas: risk management assessments that quantify portfolio exposure across five risk dimensions; insurance wrapper advisory that identifies and monitors contractually protected investment structures; capital structuring guidance that separates protected assets from operating liabilities; and ongoing advisory mandates that keep protection frameworks calibrated over time. We are not a bank, we do not custody assets, and we do not sell financial products. Our revenue comes entirely from advisory fees paid by clients — a model that eliminates the product commission conflicts that compromise advice at most retail financial intermediaries.
How we work — and what we will tell you when we cannot help
A repeatable, documented process is the foundation of every engagement, regardless of portfolio size.
Every Codingcanvasq engagement follows the same sequence: an initial scoping call to assess whether the client's situation is within our competence; a formal risk assessment using our documented five-dimension framework; a written findings report with graded recommendations; and either a one-time implementation advisory or a continuing oversight mandate. We have operated in the Kenyan market since 2018 — through the interest-rate volatility of 2019, the pandemic-driven dislocations of 2020 and 2021, and the currency pressures of 2022 and 2023. That direct experience of actual East African market stress is the context in which our risk frameworks were calibrated. We are a small team, which means capacity is finite: we do not take on more mandates than our analysts can monitor rigorously, and we maintain a waiting list rather than diluting service quality. Clients who need discretionary portfolio management, custody services, stockbroking execution, or tax planning should be directed to specialists in those areas — we say this at first contact, not after engagement has begun.
“What distinguished Codingcanvasq from every other advisory conversation I had was that they told me, at the first meeting, exactly which parts of my situation were outside their scope. That kind of honesty is rare enough to be a differentiator.”
